Contraction 3, 2019Plaster, steel, aluminium, acrylic, burlap, wax
Contraction 3 is formed by a tall stack of hollow cylindrical forms cast in plaster, reminiscent of scaled-up bones, or vertebrates. One piece is connected to the other by poured plaster that runs over the casted shapes, confounding their geometry and consolidating their unity as a totem. On the left side of this tall volume, and pushing against it, there is the plaster cast of two knees. The rest of the legs, from half calves down to the ankles, is substituted by aluminium stilts, both prosthetics and scaffolding at the same time.
